Short Hair for men
Men mostly wear short hair, but it doesn’t mean they can’t get bored by it or that they always manage to give the best of their haircut. Here are some advices from Silvana, that you might find quite useful:
Which haircut trend should I choose?
As seasons and fashions change, you won’t ask the same haircut to your hairdresser and that’s for the best! Because changing your style is also a good way to refresh your thoughts, you might want to ask for the right hair shape. By choosing the right haircut for you, you will be keener to take care of it and always wear it impeccable. This is a first and major step! According to Silvana, the trending hairstyles are still “the Pompadour, crops, comb over and the lateral or upside variations.” And remember that the possibilities vary “with high, medium or low fade according to the shape of the face.”
Design the perfect haircut
When asking a haircut to your hairdresser, don’t hesitate in taking advises and talking together through the right shape according to your facial features. This it will be easier to maintain your haircut longer, as it will perfectly fit you from the beginning. For a very trendy pompadour hairstyle, here is how to trim it right, so that it will last for long : “you apply the Power Cut clipper on the upper part of the hair, and the Styling Cut on the neck, back and side parts to make it all uniform. Both clippers can get you the utmost precision, and you can perfectly define your lines, as they’re very light and easy to handle. My favourite tools by far.”
When and how to refresh it
A nice, designed haircut needs a lot of attention and work. The basic rule here, as Silvana says, is that “a men’s haircut usually needs a refresh every 5 weeks or so, before it starts losing its ideal shape”
The extra-tip for a professional, unique hairstyle
Displaying the same hairstyle for months might lead you to lack ideas to renew it. Side-parting, create volume, brushings, there’s actually a great amount of strategies you can apply to refresh your daily hair style and live the best of your short haircut.
Silvana’s tip of the day tells you how to make the most of a Pompadour haircut : “We’ll make a brushing with a Termix Evolution brush, as it softens the hair and gives it back its strong natural shine. This specific hairstyle requires a movement to the front, brushing the strands up, and then to use a fixation product, like wax here. We now replace the hair back and fix it right to maintain the volume.” And… Done!
Short hair…for women
You’ve hesitated for months and you’ve finally done it: you now wear your hair short. What a decision, and what an empowering experience! Now you think about how you’ll have to reinvent your haircut as it will start to grow long again… Whether you’re still thinking about cutting your hair short or you already wear it short since 1991, the same question will arise on that matter: how can I refresh my style with short hair? The first key to a perfect, short hair, is to be sure about your haircut. And to be well advised, so that we give you a few tips from Silvana Tovar:
Which trendy haircut to choose
Whether you think about cutting your hair short or already wear it that way, there are still a lot of opportunities to model it your way. And that’s the first step to a perfect shiny hair: be sure that it fits you and your style. Silvana points out a great number of possibilities : “pixie, short shaggy, short bob (etc.), that we must chose according to the facial features.”
Design the perfect haircut
The more you like your hair, the easier it will be for you to maintain it clean and lively. “Here, we decided to project femininity through a bold haircut, proposes Silvana. We’re enlightening our model’s features. We’ll use a Termix Evolution Soft brush to curl the hair, for its perfect slide sensation and for the natural shine and movement it gives to the hair.”
When and how to refresh it
The moment we all fear is the first weeks when the hair starts growing long again, not knowing how to accommodate it anymore. Following Silvana’s advise, you should not have to worry, you’d just have to follow that simple tip : “Each haircut we mentioned needs a professional refresh every 6 to 8 weeks, just the time for it to grow long enough to modify the general shape of the cut”
The extra-tip for a professional, unique hairstyle
When you wear short hair, there’s little you can do to hide it if it gets dry or if it loses a bit of its natural shine. So that it’s really important to keep your hair well hydrated, in any circumstances. “In summer, warns Silvana, short hair tend to suffer from outside aggressions, so that I recommend some special treatments and products to keep it strong”.
For instance, “a keratin treatment is always a good solution, even more before summer, as it reduces the frizz effect, smoothens and straightens the hair, whilst giving it an extra strength that will protect its structure from the sand, the sun or the salt for 3 to 4 months”
And the alternative, if you’re not into such long-term treatments as keratin, would be using “sun products that can help protecting the hair from external aggression, like essential oils, or nanotechnology through a deep hydration and protection from the UV rays.”
And you, do you have a special technique to keep your short hair perfectly clean and bright?
