Hairstylist Angel Alonso shares with you the benefits to brushing your hair and the best detangling techniques and tips to do it properly to keep your hair healthy.
1. The brushing benefits
Your scalp produces natural oils that are good for your hair. By brushing your hair, letting the brush touch literally the scalp, you are distributing those oils into your hair to keep it moisturized, shiny and healthier. Also, hair takes a lot of abuse, like products and pollution. By brushing hair regularly you are helping work some of those things out and keeping it from settling on your hair making it dull and rough.
2. Never when hair is wet
Never untangle or brush your hair when it’s wet. When possible, it is important to brush the hair when it is completely dry. When we untangle wet hair, we risk breaking it as it is more fragile. But if you have to, gentle untangle first the hair ends using a wide-tooth comb. A nice massaging brushing session (3-5 minutes of Gentle brushing) stimulates blood flow in your scalp which means a healthy scalp and healthy hair growth.
3. The importance of using professional tools
Using the right hairbrush can make a big difference in the health of your hair. It is strongly recommended to brush your hair twice per day: in the morning and in the night and with professional hairbrushes.
His favorite tool:
The 100% natural boar hairbrush of Termix, which is gentle on the hair, helps smooth the cuticle and redistributes sebum throughout the strand to moisturize and create a beautiful and glossy finish.
