Hair pieces and wigs, the secret weapon for celebs
Hair pieces and wigs, the secret weapon for celebs
Spain’s Cinema Awards begins and… surprise! Actress Penélope Cruz shows up at the red carpet with a new faux fringe. Gigi Hadid also debuts a super short new haircut at the AMAs, shocking everyone, and next day reappears again with her long wavy hair. Celebrities surprise with manes that are shortened without chopping their hair, locks of hair growing from one day to another or fringes that appear and disappear by magic. So… how do they do it? From Tizho’s capillary center in Madrid, Mercedes Garrosa explains how hair pieces and wigs have become the secret weapon for celebs who change up their look or hairstyle in a flash. Take a look on how they are hair styled.
She opened her hair center in 1986 and, since then, Mercedes Garrosa has become the most recognized capillary technician in Spain, making handcrafted, custom and anatomical wigs of natural hair for patients who have lost hair, consequence of chemotherapy or partial alopecia. However, in recent years, the words “wig” or “hair pieces” have gone from being a taboo to an essential complement for anyone who doesn’t want to renounce to a new look.
“Regardless of what everyone wears, there are fringes, buns and other easy-to-implement hair pieces that help us to change our look. Resort to them is a much more common solution between celebrities than we believe and they are increasingly more popular also among ordinary people”, says Mercedes.
The best hair care with Termix profesional hairbrushes
There are different types of wigs, but Mercedes Garrosa studies every case and advises to the customer about which is the ideal wig, made to measure according to the shape of the head, hair type and color. As a result, no difference is appreciated with natural hair. Not even in their hair care. “Once a week, the wigs have to be washed, brushed and combed as we would do with our own hair. Therefore, I always advise to use top quality hair tools, such as the ones Termix offers. Since the beginning of my career I have worked with no other tool than the Termix professional hairbrush. I don’t get these results with any other: a perfectly polished and shiny hair, in every style, and with no need of using a styler for example. And, in addition, with a minimum drying time”, says Mercedes.
Celebrities who fool us with their hair
The wigs of Liz Taylor in Cleopatra or Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman are already mythical of the seventh art. In fashion, glamour also tends to start by the head. An example: the last fashion spring/summer of 2016 show of Chanel, which surprised with an original croissant updo which was a hairpiece. No matter where, there is no doubt that many of the most envied looks are wigs and hairpieces strategically placed so masterfully that nobody would guess what they are not real.
Beyocé’s wigs
We rarely see Beyoncé with her medium-length curly hair. The singer is a true obsessed of the hairpieces and wigs. She even has confessed to having hairpieces worth a million dollars.
Fringe hair pieces are trendy
Penélope Cruz was one of the first celebrities to wear it in her appearances on the red carpet and, after her, Chiara Ferragni or Kendall Jenner have encouraged to change their look for a few hours with this accessory that has nothing to envy to a natural fringe.
The thick bob of Katie Holmes
Everyone thought that Katie Holmes turned to this old look that already wore for years. But we were wrong. On this occasion it was only a wig. Like this one that Irina Shayk was wearing in a photo published in her Instagram. Hours after, she reappeared with her natural brown hair.
The platinum blonde hair of Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian also moved to the platinum blond hair from one day to another, although this time it was nothing more than a wig.
