How to jump from natural hair waves to a fancy night hairdo

You’re the hair that I want! No doubt you’ll soon shout out something of that style, half-singing and swinging, divine as Olivia Newton John at the end of Grease, for one of the long-lasting trends we’ll show you today is so wavy… For natural waves or fancy ones, as varied as they can be, are nowadays your best stylish ally. Why? So simple, actually: your hair thus combines elegance with any spirit you’d like to display. Let us guide you through Landry Agres’s hair salon, where the French stylist receives the young mum Cristina Llorens, and shows you the best way to unlock your hair best potential.

One look during the day, another at night… And that would be the norm. Cause, as though living in a fairytale, our hair always has to adapt a situation or another. Obviously enough, your Saturday brunch has nothing to do with the gala party you’re going to attend later, except that your hair will have to reshape between the two… And that the easiest technique to achieve that performance would be the wonderful wavy hair one. Of that fact, the French hairstylist Landry Agres approves and admits that waves arouse all the hair charisma. He will teach you to pass from a casual look to a sophisticated red-carpet stylized hair, practicing on the luckily new mum and football star’s wife, Cristina Llorens. Ready?

LOOK N1: WHAT ABOUT MESSY WAVES FOR THE DAY?

Yes, what about them? Everything, actually. It’s probably one of the simplest, easier and more convenient hairdos you can make this season. If you take a look around you, you’ll see curls hiding in everyone’s hair… As wet waves, siren waves, o WOB look… Celebrities love it, that’s for sure! Curls have rolled down from California, where the famous Hollywood Waves have never got out of fashion, to a much simpler shape today. “A natural wave is quite what people want for their daily routine”, analyses the French stylist Landry Agres. So that he will apply this trendy demand to Cristina Llorens’ hair: a messy wave with a lot a movement. Here it is!

STEP 1
Divide the strand in three, so that you can handle the hair easily.

STEP 2
With the Pro Flat Electric Hairbrush (for large waves), or the Pro Styling (stronger waves), let’s roll the hair, strand by strand, to create a soft, round movement. a lot of attention and treatments to keep all its intensity.

STEP 3
Always move from the inside to the outside, to increase the volume and highlight the facial features. We’ll use the professional brush at a constant 180ºC temperature, from roots to ends. That way, we’ll create a smooth, natural wave while protecting the health of the hair.

STEP 4
To get more casual once shaped the whole hair, pass the fingertips through the ends (or a large comb), to separate the waves and make it more natural.

LOOK N2: TRANSFORMING THE WAVES INTO A ROMANTIC HALF-BUN

Oh la la, you’re gonna love it! If you feel you heart beat every time you see a tangled hairdo, a top knot or a messy bun, you’ll fall in love when you’ll see how we played with the waves to generate the best fancy option for a classy night. The name? Half-bun, full chic. Here, Landry Agres goes for a romantic hairstyle that can be worn with urban chic outfits, or a long fine cocktail dress. So, hoping you’ll enjoy it as much as Cristina Llorens, we give you the magic steps for this beautiful hairdo:

STEP 1
We’ll sharpen the waves using the 230 Iron, to get a much more precise finish. As we roll the hair from the roots, let’s swing the hand once to form the perfectly-shaped wave for the bun.

STEP 2
When the hair has its fine movement, we’ll collect two strands to form a crown and tie them up on the back of the head.

STEP 3
We’ll then pick up some of the upper waves to gather them in shape of a rose and leave the forehead free.

STEP 4
With the slim teasing brush, we’ll backcomb the upper zone to create more volume, before tying up together and brushing to smoothen the hairdo.

STEP 5
Let’s then pull a few strategic random waves out, to frame the face. And… Done!
